Love isn't
Love is not a feeling, because we have other words for that. For example the feeling of belonging, connection, solidarity or sympathy. It shouldn't either be confused with any feeling sexual attraction, or even the psychological or physical bound between a child and its parent. So what is love?Love is
Love is the unselfish act of fulfilling another persons subjectively defined conditions, needed for that person to produce happy hormones (Dopamine, Serotonin and Oxytocin). It is not easy to express Love. Love is time consuming hard work, and consist of nurturing for a person continuously. You solely define what others must do to express Love to you. You therefore determine if a person Love you or doesn't.Cultural Love traps
A common theme is that a person expresses something that in his culture is commonly seen as an act of love - and expects acknowledgement for his "noble" act. The typical way in western European culture, is to say the words "I Love You". It's not that big of a deal, and in my opinion it's meaningless empty words. If those words matter to you, question yourself if you lack self respect./LogicalDeduction
